Germany Resettles 174 Afghans From Pakistan In Hannover

Germany relocated 174 Afghan nationals from Islamabad to Hannover on Thursday under its resettlement programme, Deutsche Welle reported. The group comprised 82 women, 92 men, and 74 minors, including nine infants under two, all pre-approved by German authorities.

A Federal Ministry of the Interior spokesperson said, “All persons were strictly checked,” underscoring security as a priority. However, Welt reported that some slated for the flight were excluded for unspecified reasons, with Germany’s Federal Police revoking at least three visas, though details were not disclosed.

The Interior Ministry confirmed no further resettlement approvals will be granted, following the prior approval of about 2,800 Afghan nationals for relocation.
