Taliban’s Commerce Minister Travels to Almaty to Attend Trade Fair

Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban's Minister of Industry and Commerce, travelled to the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, to participate in a trade fair.

The Taliban's Ministry of Industry and Commerce wrote in a statement that a delegation of 250 members of the private sector and Taliban officials left for Almaty on Friday afternoon, October 18.

The Taliban's Ministry of Industry and Commerce wrote in a statement that the delegation includes Taliban officials and some businessmen and representatives of the private sector.

The ministry wrote that the Taliban delegation travelled to Almaty to hold an exhibition of Afghan products in Almaty, participate in a trade outreach conference, and hold official and business meetings with Kazakh officials.

The visit of the Taliban delegation to Kazakhstan comes at a time when some Central Asian countries have recently expanded their relations with the Taliban. Earlier, last month, a Taliban delegation travelled to Uzbekistan to hold an exhibition, and before that, some Uzbek officials and businessmen had travelled to Kabul to strengthen trade relations.
