Mohammad Nabi Omari, Taliban’s deputy interior minister, stated that the presence of the Taliban alone is not sufficient for establishing a political system in Afghanistan.
Omari emphasised that if the leaders of the group believe that the system can be built solely with the Taliban and clerics, it is a mistake that he does not accept.
After the takeover of power in Afghanistan, the Taliban sidelined all political factions and formed an interim government by excluding women and ethnic groups from various aspects of society. The group calls its administration the "Islamic Emirate" and has resisted calls for the formation of an inclusive government with the participation of women, ethnic and social groups.
During an exhibition of Khost Mechanical Institute students, Omari said that modern science education is a serious necessity, and emphasised on the need for specialists in various fields.
The Taliban has primarily focused on religious education, and over the past thirty months, they have established hundreds of new religious madrassas. Additionally, the group has modified the school curriculum, increasing the number of religious subjects.
Previously, a spokesperson of the Taliban’s Ministry of Education had stated that subjects contradicting the "Sharia and Afghan culture" have been removed from the educational curriculum.
The ministry has said that modern sciences compatible with the "national and Islamic culture" will be included in the curriculum.
While most members of the Taliban are conservative towards modern science education, some members of the group occasionally emphasise on the need for modern science education.
Abdul Salam Zaeef, the former Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, previously said that those opposing modern sciences are "ignorant and enemies of Muslims disguised in Islamic clothing”.
Despite widespread domestic and international protests, the Taliban has prohibited girls from receiving education beyond the sixth grade. As of now, the group has not taken any steps to reopen girls' schools.

The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that a man in Zabul province has been publicly flogged for engaging in extramarital relations.
This court stated on Tuesday that the accused received 39 lashes.
According to the Taliban Supreme Court statement, this individual was punished in the presence of local officials in the Shahjoy district of Zabul.
Following the takeover of power in Afghanistan, the Taliban has resumed physical punishments such as flogging, amputation, and execution.

Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar province have stated that Pakistan has once again closed the Torkham crossing for patients.
Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA), under Taliban control, reported that Pakistan has been denying entry to patients without passports and visas since Tuesday.
According to Taliban officials in Nangarhar, this route was closed on Monday.
Pakistan had previously also closed the Torkham crossing for patients who lacked visas and passports in recent months.
Additionally, the patient transfer commission in Torkham has urged applicants not to approach the commission until further notice.

Sources have informed Afghanistan International that on Tuesday, residents of Baghlan province closed the northern highway in protest against the Taliban.
According to these sources, residents of the Dahana-i-Ghori district staged demonstrations and blocked the Balkh-Samangan highway.
Images received by Afghanistan International indicate that some individuals are present on the road and have ignited fires.
Sources claimed that ongoing floods and the destruction of agricultural lands in the province prompted the protests as people are asking the Taliban to construct a canal to prevent further destruction.
Recent floods in various provinces have resulted in both human and financial losses.
Sources in Baghlan reported that even several hours after the protest began, Taliban authorities are yet to arrive at the scene.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) announced that their fighters killed a Taliban member and injured two others during an attack on a Taliban outpost in Baghlan province.
AFF stated that the operation took place on Monday evening, targeting a Taliban police command outpost in Pul-e-Khomri city.
According to the front's statement, no AFF members suffered any harm during the operation.
AFF stands as one of the armed factions opposing the Taliban, engaging in offensives against the group across various provinces, notably in northern Afghanistan.
Taliban officials typically refrain from commenting on such incidents.
