On Monday, members of the Afghan Women's Movement confirmed the release of Parisa Azada, a women's rights activist, from the Taliban’s prison after one month and 10 days.

The Taliban intelligence agency had arrested Azada on November 15 from Dashte Barchi area of western Kabul.

Azada is a member of the Afghanistan Women's Justice Movement. Tahera Naseri, one of the member of the movement, has confirmed the release of Parisa Azada.

The Taliban has not yet explained the motive for arresting her.

Maryam Marouf Arvin, one of the officials of the Purple Saturday’s movement, told Afghanistan International that the Taliban had confiscated Azada’s cellphone and computer on the day when they had arrested her and now they have not returned her belongings.

Arvin also mentioned that the Taliban have taken a guarantee from Azada’s family, ensuring that she will cease her activities and refrain from speaking to the media.
