Iran’s Special Representative, Russia's Ambassador to Tehran Discuss Afghanistan

Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan, met Alexey Dedov, the Russian ambassador in Tehran. Qomi said that during the meeting, they discussed mutual cooperation and concerns, including "terrorism and its supporters in Afghanistan".

Qomi emphasised that through their proxies, including the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) "destabilising" forces are escalating the crisis in Afghanistan.

The Special Representative of Iran added, "Iran and Russia are jointly determined to end the Afghan crisis."
